ExpressVPN

Speed quality is constant and there are no disconnections. Once you find the right server you can count on the same speed and reliable performance. I had to buy a license for two more connections but if you don’t need it for your work as a do, the original five simultaneous connections are more than you probably need. Overall, I think its a great product that offers value for money, I’ve paid $6.67 for a year, that’s the price per month and I’ve got three extra months for free so it’s around 100$ for 15 months which I think is a good deal.

ExpressVPN is probably the best ones out unless you live or work in the Orwellian nation of PRC where almost every VPN is blocked and you need bridges with Tor to access the web uncensored. ExpressVPN have some of the fastest and most stable servers you can use. You can be using the same server for weeks and even a month and it doesn't die out or disconnect. Very reliable for streaming and P2P the speed is close to my vanilla connection. No IP or DNS leaks easy to use and straight forward. The only real con is the damn price almost cost $100 for their best plan but 15 months of speedy and stable servers makes it worth it if you are a heavy streamer or downloader.

Overall it is good when it works. There are sites that cannot be unlocked. My greatest disastisfaction with Express VPN is the speed. I have a 40mbps connection, and it runs at speeds under 10 mbps.So sometimes, the pic quality is not as good as it should be. Except when I connect to the South African server. But It won't allow me to access services elesewhere. That's the biggest negative point of your service!!!

I'm a new user of Express and I have not been impressed since day 1. Not a good VPN for use in China currently. Very few available connections and all very slow to connect. Once connected the speeds are incredibly poor. Whilst this may not be entirely Express's fault they do not seem to be responding as well as other VPN's to the changing restrictions in China. My previous VPN (Astrill) was much more reliable in China. I only switched as Express offered connectivity options for Apple TV and Raspberry PI. No chance to connect either under the current conditions. I'm cancelling my subscription and switching to another VPN before the 30 day trial expires. --

I've used IPVanish over a year & lately it seems it's disconnected more than connected. And there's no way to know unless u continually enter IPV. I'm leaving them. How hard could it be to include something to see if we're connected. Yes, I'm auto-connected, but that rarely works either anymore, it seems. Thxs for the reviews that helped me decide where to go. They're the best!

Not the fastest there is, but rather solid performance.

This used to be the best vpn of all times, but the latest update just killed it. It’s so difficult to connect that I’m starting to think that it’s a pure God’s miracle every time I succeed.

Great service so far. I had no trouble whatsoever. It works fast, opens anything I want and every time I want to ask anything support is online and answers fast.

Winner

Comparison Breakdown

It is easy to get lost in the abundance of features VPN providers offer and by the time you read through all the info about one of them, you will probably have forgotten half of the details you learned about the previous solution you checked out. Here, you can see exactly how one compares to another in seven crucial aspects of this kind of service, including reliability, performance, support and of course, the price.

Apps

  • ExpressVPN is compatible with all major operating systems for all devices that could require VPN protection, including desktop and laptop computers, smartphones and tablets, wireless routers and various consoles such as Xbox.
  • IPVanish covers just as wide range of operating systems and devices as ExpressVPN, which makes it equally excellent in this aspect.

Support Type

  • ExpressVPN offers support via email and live chat, which is available 24/7. It also has a comprehensive FAQ section and useful tutorial page for beginners.
  • IPVanish does not feature a live chat, but does offer 24/7 email ticket support, complemented with extraordinarily good FAQ section and setup guides.

IP Type

  • ExpressVPN offers shared dynamic IP addresses, making it practically impossible to trace the IP back to individual users. The total number of IPs available is 336.
  • IPVanish operates on the same basis as ExpressVPN, using shared dynamic IP addresses (with a whopping number of 40000 IPS available) for maximum anonymity.

Pricing Options

  • ExpressVPN offers three packages differing exclusively in the duration of the subscription (one, six or 12 months), ranging from $12.95 for monthly subscription to $8.32 per month for an annual subscription billed once a year.
  • IPVanish also gives you the chance to choose between three subscription periods – one, three or 12 months. It is somewhat more affordable than ExpressVPN, with prices ranging from $10 for monthly subscription to $6.49 per month for a yearly subscription.

Protocols

  • The default protocol for ExpressVPN is Open VPN protocol; however, in addition to the default option, it offers L2TP, PPTP, and SSTP protocols.
  • IPVanish also offers great security with OpenVPN, PPTP, and L2TP/IPSec protocols, but its offer does not include an SSTP protocol.

Performance & Reliability

  • ExpressVPN is characterized by amazing reliability, with 1,700 servers available in 145 cities in 94 countries, allowing for secure and anonymous browsing from nearly every corner of the world. Its performance is impeccable, with no speed limitations and unlimited bandwidth and server switching. It allows up to 3 simultaneous connections and also offers a P2P option.
  • IPVanish also maintains an extremely high level of reliability and performance, with 850+ servers in over 60 countries (especially numerous in the major world countries), unlimited bandwidth, server switching and speed, up to 5 simultaneous connections and spotless performance across all tests ran by our expert team (most importantly, no DSN leaks that would indicate any privacy threats). P2P is also allowed.

Security & Protection

  • ExpressVPN earns its great reputation by providing an extremely high level of security. Your privacy is secured by multifold protection, including a kill switch, NAT firewall and no traffic logs. They support Bitcoin.
  • IPVanish also takes great care of your privacy, applying a full zero logs policy and you can pay with BitCoin and provide no personal information, entering only your email address and a password. Shared IPs, combined with kill switch and WIFI protection guarantee maximum security while browsing.
