Security Upgrade

On November 2nd, 2017, CyberGhost switched to SHA-256 authentication algorithm due to popular demand. SHA-256 is the more secure (albeit slower) hashing function since it’s not prone to the vulnerabilities discovered in MD5. This transition shows that CyberGhost really listens to its customers and grants their requests if it deems them justified. If you are using the app, you don’t have to worry about any new configuration setup. If you want to install the VPN on Linux, router, and other devices, you can download the new configuration file or perform a manual change from “auth md5” to “auth sha256” in your security tab. The official CyberGhost website features a number of useful articles regarding this topic, so you’ll want to check those for additional information.

New Streaming Channels

CyberGhost also introduced new streaming channels to its “Unlimited Streaming” profile, which is currently available on iOS, Windows, and Android devices. CyberGhost, therefore, allows you to enjoy streaming while optimizing your online privacy and security at the same time.
