So, after this lengthy intro, let’s talk about ExpressVPN’s latest audit. First of all, they passed the audit with flying colors. You’ve probably heard about a cybersecurity firm, F-Secure as they’ve been in the business for more than thirty years. They have offices all over the world and have worked with large companies on their cybersecurity issues. The audit itself lasted for a month, from November 2021 to December 2021. Two main aspects of these tests were privacy and security. This pertains to information disclosure or IP address leakage as well as the ability of an attacker to execute code remotely. The security and privacy protection measures worked well and there were no issues here. This is not surprising as F-Secure is only the latest company to conduct such an investigation. Before them, PwC Switzerland audited their privacy policy compliance and in-house technology TrustedServer.
