Logging Policy

Whether you opt for a free trial or paid subscription, Unlocator will collect your name, address, email, IP address, credit card information, and data collected by cookies. Additionally, it will gather your usage logs and keep them for a period of 24 hours.

According to the company’s privacy policy, this data is collected to prevent any type of malicious behavior and general abuse of the service. However, this is not good news since we always want our VPN provider to log as little data as possible (preferably, none).

VPN Encryption

As a part of its DNS service, Unlocator masks your online identity by replacing your real IP address with one of its many IP addresses. This makes it virtually impossible for hackers to track you down and access your data.

Besides an excellent DNS service, Unlocator also provides fully-fledged VPN protection, which encrypts your data and keeps you anonymous when you surf the Internet on any of your favorite devices. The company opted for AES-256 cipher, which is one of the best options out there.

P2P

Unlocator does not mention P2P filesharing or torrenting on its official website, but our tests confirmed that the service does allow torrenting on some of its servers. Notably, the server located in the US blocked us from accessing any P2P network we wanted to test.

DNS Leaks

Our tests showed no DNS leaks, which is excellent news if you are going to use Unlocator solely for unlocking geo-restricted services in your country. Ipleak.net only saw our assigned IP address and DNS servers provided by Unlocator, so our originating IP and servers assigned by our ISP were not visible at all.
