Supported Platforms

ZoogVPN offers native apps for Windows (Vista, 7, 8, and 10), macOS (10.11+), Android (4.0+), and iOS (9.3+). Note that not all apps have the exact same features. It is also good to know that you can configure ZoogVPN manually on Linux, Fire TV, Android TV, Blackberry, and routers.

Depending on your chosen subscription plan, ZoogVPN supports up to 5 simultaneous connections, which is more than enough to secure all the important devices in your household.

Servers

At the moment, ZoogVPN features more than 50 server locations spread across 27 countries. We are talking about 1Gbps VPN servers paired with unlimited bandwidth and server switching.

The list of VPN servers on the official website allows you to determine not just the purpose of each server but the overall load on each of the individual locations as well. This enables you to save some time since you will know which servers are overcrowded at any given moment. ZoogVPN also features proprietary DNS servers.

If you are unsure about the optimal server for your current locations, the software can pick one automatically based on your ping.

ZoogVPN provides its users with thousands of shared IP addresses used to mask your real IP. At the moment, the company does not offer dedicated IPS.

Safety & Security

ZoogVPN covers OpenVPN (TCP/UDP), IKEv2, L2TP/IPSec, and PPTP connection protocols. You can also choose SOCKS5 proxy connection. The VPN encrypts your traffic via AES-256 cipher with SHA-256 authentications and RSA-2048 handshake. This is a pretty good setup that lets you create a perfect balance between security and performance.

ZoogVPN comes with a reliable automatic killswitch that will cut your Internet connection the moment your VPN becomes blocked or compromised in any way. It also includes the auto-reconnect function, which means the software reconnects automatically after it disrupts your connection.

The software provides excellent protection against data leaks of any kind, including IP and DNS leaks.

Logging & Privacy

ZoogVPN’s privacy policy is compliant with the principles stipulated in article 5 of the GDPR, which entered into force in 2019 in Greece.

Apart from your email address and the total amount of data transferred on its servers (in an aggregated form), ZoogVPN collects absolutely NOTHING! This makes ZoogVPN one of the rare services to come super-close to becoming a true zero-log VPN, which is beyond impressive! Greece has no mandatory data retention laws, which makes it an ideal location for a VPN service.

The bottom line is that ZoogVPN does not record your IP address, timestamps, the sites you visit, the apps you use, and other personal information that can be used to mount a cyberattack against you.

Streaming

ZoogVPN servers provide decent speeds that should allow you to stream your favorite content in full HD without any problems. However, its geo-spoofing capacities are a whole different story. Namely, we were not able to unlock the most popular streaming services outside their countries of origin, including Netflix US and Hulu.

Torrenting

ZoogVPN is a P2P-friendly company, but make sure your chosen server actually supports torrenting and P2P filesharing. As we already mentioned in this ZoogVPN review, the list on the official website and within the client has a little “P2P” symbol next to the viable locations.

The free version of ZoogVPN allows you to use it on a single device and access 3 server locations. Connection protocols and content access are quite limited and you have 2GB per month at your disposal. The free version utilizes 128-bit encryption and also limits your P2P traffic.

The paid options include a 1-month plan for $7.99 per month, a 1-year plan for $2.99 per month, and a 2-year subscription for just $1.75 per month. The premium subscriptions provide users with all of the features outlined previously in this ZoogVPN review.

Every purchase comes with a 7-day money-back guarantee and the accepted payment methods include credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB), UnionPay, Paymentwall, and cryptocurrencies.

Support

ZoogVPN features a comprehensive support section on the official website, including FAQs, setup wizards for numerous platforms, and useful step-by-step setup guides. The customer support team is available 24/7, but there is no live chat on the site. In other words, you can only use the implemented ticket system, which is far from ideal by today’s standards.

It works with US Netflix and actually works with many country Netflix, about 20 countries I think. Very affordable and good speeds from Europe.

  2. frank rollins | February 23, 2020

One of my first vpn purchases. I only purchased this because they support socks5 but I grew to like this one because of speeds and their nice website that actually show live server load .Good speeds for p2p and downloading in US. I have only tried Mac client but very happy with the performance.

  3. Ilda | December 22, 2019

The speed is ok, the client is easy to master, and the overall experience is pretty decent. However, I couldn’t watch anything apart from the sites that work in my country without a VPN.

  4. Jack555 | August 20, 2019

Very easy to use, even for a tech noob like me.
