We already heard rumors about this new VPN that’s so good that it quickly become one of the most popular ones. So, in this WeVPN review, we will put that claim to the test. However, having already completed our analysis we must say that this indeed is one of the best VPN services currently available on the market. The company was founded back in 2019 with headquarters in The British Virgin Islands. This is an offshore jurisdiction famous for privacy protection laws.

If you like to stream content, this is a perfect solution because you can watch 400+ services! Yes, almost every streaming platform is present and they all work without any issues. Their focus is on streaming and security, the two most important aspects of any VPN service. Especially for novice users and those who want something that just works. On top of all this, we have a comprehensive customer support system and a plethora of payment methods. Not only can you pay with credit cards but you can also use various cryptocurrencies.

Supported Platforms

One of the first things that we really liked about WeVPN is the number of supported platforms. Of course, you already know that you can use it on Windows, macOS (iPad, iPhone), Linux and Android devices. However, did you know that you can also install it on Chrome OS, Amazon Fire OS, Fire TV, Apple TV and Android TV. This covers your television needs so let’s move on because the list doesn’t stop here.

There are also three extensions available for the three most popular browsers: Chrome, Firefox and Edge. And we won’t make any Edge jokes, we promise. They actually made a decent browser out of a meme. Moving on, WeVPN is available for Nintendo Switch, Playstation and Xbox completing the picture of a robust product you can use on almost all devices you can own. So, the only device that we don’t see on this list is a router but considering everything it’s not an issue.

WeVPN Supported Platforms Apps

This is by far the biggest number of supported platforms we have ever seen one VPN service support. And we have been reviewing VPNs for quite a while now. However, this isn’t the only surprise this powerful VPN service has to offer. So, read on to find out more.

Servers

If we had to choose one thing that WeVPN needs to work on that would be servers. And don’t get us wrong, there’s nothing wrong with them. They are fast, reliable, and strategically spread out over 66 locations in 48 countries. All of them not only support streaming but also P2P file-sharing or torrenting. However, 100+ servers is a relatively small number, especially when compared to some of the bigger VPN providers.

WeVPN Servers Locations

You should know that during our tests we didn’t have any problems with connections or speeds. As this is a relatively new company, there shouldn’t be any issues because the servers can easily take this load. We will keep this WeVPN review updated with the latest updates concerning their server list.

Finally, we would like to add that all of their servers are LUKS encrypted and built on RAMDISK. What this means is that if you restart your device all data concerning your browsing history is deleted. All of this is completely automated and folded in their proprietary Sealed Server Technology (SST).

Safety and Security

Apart from using now already standard protocols OpenVPN and iKEV2/IPSEC, WeVPN also features WireGuard protocol. We already talked about how much we love this incredibly lightweight and effective protocol in a couple of posts you can read here. This is the advantage that all of these new VPNs have over the old ones as they come with already built-in support for WireGuard. For example, OpenVPN has over 600,000 lines of code and WireGuard just 4000.

The WeVPN app comes automatically equipped with IPV6 and DNS Leak Protection. We also shouldn’t forget to mention the AES-256 GCM encryption making sure that your online experience will be safe and secure. Overall, we’re very pleased with what we saw here and we think you will be too.

Logging and Privacy

At the beginning of this WeVPN review, we mentioned that the company is headquartered in the British Virgin Islands. Furthermore, they have a strict no-logs policy and apps support split tunneling. This means you will be able to choose which applications are going to be using VPN connection. Something we already talked about is their proprietary Sealed Server Technology (SST). It’s ensuring that no one can access your connection data, not even the technical staff as everything is automated.

WeVPN Security

After you’ve enabled it in the options, you can also take advantage of the Kill Switch. It will automatically sever your connection to the Internet at the first sign of any trouble making sure your privacy is protected at all times. When it comes to browsing privacy, you’ll have access to WeBlock featuring triple protection against all kinds of attacks including phishing and malware. Moreover, it will prevent tracking by third parties who want to sell your browsing history to the highest bidder. And to make things even better, it also features a very effective AdBlocker.

Finally, WeDNS Security is another cool feature that protects you from DNS poisoning and MITM (man in the middle) attacks. Your DNS queries are encrypted with DNS over TLS, keeping the connection secure at all times.

Streaming

Well, this is the part we’ve all been waiting for and it’s finally here. So, WeVPN can work with whopping 400+ streaming platforms. We don’t have enough room in this review to list them all, but the list is available on their website. All the big players are here: Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max, Apple TV+, Peacock TV, and BBC iPlayer. And get this, if there’s a streaming service you want and it’s not on the list, you can WeVPN to unlock it. Just go to the WePLAY™ submission portal and type in the name of the service and you’re done.

WeVPN Streaming

This whole feature is appropriately called WePlay and it’s already running in the background when you start the app. This means there’s no additional setup and the same goes for the server network. All of them support streaming and we had no issues. And since we’re talking about really fast servers the picture quality was just perfect. It goes without saying that there were no lags, jitters or the dreaded loading screens. This VPN is really built for streaming.

Torrenting

Pretty much everything we said about streaming with WeVPN goes for the torrenting. All of the servers support P2P file sharing and you don’t have to worry about connection issues. However, we should mention that the speeds are not so great when it comes to torrenting. You will be able to download files without any problems but it’s going to take a while. This is an issue that plagues all of the VPN services as they don’t want to get too involved with something that might be considered illegal. So, they invest more time and effort into streaming and security features.

Pricing

We want to start this section by listing all the payment options at your disposal. You can pay by credit card, PayPal, Amazon Pay, and the following cryptocurrencies: BTC, LTC, ETH, BCH, BEAM, XRP, ZEC, DOGE, and XMR. This is the first time we’ve seen so many different cryptocurrencies options when buying a VPN. So, if you have some coins lying around, why don’t you put them to good use and also get a premium VPN service.

WeVPN Pricing

You can choose between 1-month, 12-months, and 24-months subscription options. One month of WeVPN will cost you $9.95, one year $49.96 or $4.16 per month and finally, a two-year plan is $69.95 or $2.59. As you can notice, the bigger the subscription, the bigger the discount as the old saying goes. And there’s a 30-days Money-Back Guarantee making sure you get the best possible user experience.

Support

WeVPN features a robust FAQ section along with a Support hub. This is the place where you can find out information not just about your Account & Billing and Techincal Issues but also learn the best practices. However, the most important thing here is that the support is available 24/7 and you can access it via three different methods: Live Chat, Ticket, and Discord. Again, this is the first time we’re seeing customer support for a VPN service that supports Discord.

And one more thing. Unlike some other VPN providers who are actively trying to hide their customer service, WeVPN flaunts it on the homepage. We didn’t have any issues and yet that button to contact their customer support looked so inviting. Don’t worry, this is a condition you develop after reviewing so many VPNs.

WeVPN Pros & Cons

It’s time to wrap up this WeVPN review and summarize our findings although we think you can already guess where this is going. WeVPN is one of the best VPN providers we ever tested, and we don’t say that lightly. Their only flaw is the small number of currently available servers but they make for that with speed, security, and reliability. This is a simple, cheap, and effective VPN solution for all who like to stream content and it features robust 256-bit encryption.
